Diponegoro University (UNDIP) is an Indonesian public university located in Semarang, Central Java. With its mission "to be an excellent and cultured university with an international reputation", UNDIP has become one of the most reputable universities in Indonesia.

History

UNDIP was established on October 9, 1957, as a result of the merger of several institutions of higher education in Central Java. It was named after Prince Diponegoro, a Javanese prince who played a significant role in the Indonesian National Revolution against the Dutch colonial rule.
